Exercise is an important part of the healing process. Many patients begin physical therapy the same day as surgery. Your PT may teach you things like how to:

Physical therapy doesn’t end when you leave the hospital. Continue to do your at home exercises and follow your physical therapist’s instructions until your follow-up appointment. Returning to What You Love!
Once cleared by your doctor, you can ease back into many favorite activities! Low impact options like golf, Pilates, and swimming are typically allowed. It is not recommended to practice contact sports, high impact aerobics, or trampoline training after a TJR. For an extensive list of activities after surgery,click here.
